From one product to a one-stop shop

GNR Consulting is committed to advancing civil engineering through innovation and excellence.

In 2022, our founder Dan Molyneux helped develop a SuDS road gully filter with a national housebuilder. That ‘eureka’ moment widened his commercial and technical vision, and set GNR Consulting’s concrete foundation with a value-led approach.

Since then, GNR has formed strategic partnerships with leading manufacturers, working in a niche space as a one-stop shop for consultant engineers, developers and end-user contractors.

We are a digital civil engineering product consultancy, built on strong relationships, technical expertise and a proactive approach. We pride ourselves on being hands-on, commercially aware and committed to delivering real value from early engagement through to project delivery.

Dan Molyneux

Managing Director

20 years of industry experience

Dan started in the builders merchant industry in 2006, following his release from Darlington FC as a YTS goalkeeper.

Green as grass, he fell into the world of a civils contract sales office and ‘drained’ all of the information he could, Monday to Friday, in a highly professional, fast-paced environment. In 2013 Dan secured his first external role, and his year-in, year-out drive and determination secured multiple contracts and clients that remain to this day.

In 2022 came what he describes as the moment of his career: developing a product with a national housebuilder. To this day, it is the reason GNR Consulting Ltd was born.

Outside the business, Dan still attempts to hit the gym three times a week, get his golf handicap down to 10 (he wishes) and attend his place of worship at the weekend, which of course is St James’ Park, to watch his beloved Newcastle United pick up three points. Amongst all of that, he loves spending valued family time with his wife and daughter.

Born on the Great North Road

GNR Consulting was born on the Great North Road in Gosforth, Newcastle.

Known today as the A1, it is the longest numbered road in the UK, running 410 miles between Edinburgh and London. GNR has already supplied major projects on this road for tier one contractors including Costain and Balfour Beatty.

We are proud to support the construction and civil engineering industry along this stretch of highway, with supply chain partners linking into housing, highways, commercial, retail and rail projects across the UK mainland.

Giving back

We believe in giving back to the communities that support us, through charitable contributions and hands-on volunteering. It reflects our core values: compassion, community and collaboration.

The Sick Children’s Trust

We are proud to support The Sick Children’s Trust, a charity that provides vital support and accommodation for families with seriously ill children in hospital, helping families stay together during some of their most difficult times.

For two consecutive years we have taken part in a golf marathon: four rounds of golf in one day at Bamburgh Castle Golf Club. That is 26 miles and approximately 45,000 steps, with no trolleys or buggies, and both years raising nearly £9,000.

Esh Winning Football Club

We volunteer commercially with Esh Winning Football Club, a grassroots club especially close to Dan’s heart. He enjoyed some of the most memorable football of his Northern League career there between 2006 and 2009, winning a league cup title and securing promotion, while his dad served as a committee member.

Now, as a new generation steps up to lead, Dan and the wider team are giving back with fresh energy, ideas and commercial support, so the club’s future is just as bright as its past.
